EPDM Link - Solidworks Lost

Hello, decidedly, it's the day of the question for me...

I created a post a few days ago about my SW2014 SP3 to SP4 upgrade. The manager told me SW 2013. Thinking of a graphical error, I installed everything and I ended up with SW 2013 SP4 :/

SW 2014 was not uninstalled, so I kept it and uninstalled SW 2013.

Since then, EPDM has been making prank after prank.

When validating a part, EPDM is supposed to generate PDF and STEP for me, depending on the source file.

However, since the uninstallation of SW 2013, it no longer generates anything and gives me an error message, saying that it can't find SW.

Also, I noticed that when I search for a part via the "Used in" function of EPDM, a window opens, and when I right-click to open, nothing happens.

Similarly, when I'm under Windows Explorer in my trunk, the visualization no longer works. EPDM generates an Edrawing file but doesn't know what to open it with.

I'm an EPDM marble but I think it all comes from a mistake in the way.

If one or more pros could help me...

Thank you!

Hello

I think that a prosteriori deinstallation is not recommended: it can remove necessary files.

The best would be to uninstall and then re-inbase the 2014...

Hello

Agree with Lucas, we have to start from scratch!!

Ok, on the other hand I don't know how EPDM works. When installing SW, does EPDM automatically "link" with SW?

Basically, I uninstall, re-install and everything should work again?

EPDM is an add-in to be activated from SolidWorks (in Add-in Tools) such as Simulation for example.

Personally, when we were evolving a version of SolidWorks, we were also evolving the version of EPDM.
@Jose, what is your version of EPDM?

From memory, your version of EPDM accepts an older version (or 2 I think) of SolidWorks.

but a higher version of SolidWorks I don't know.

Example: if you have an EPDM 2012 you can have a version of SW 2012/sw2011

So, we were confronted with this problem and according to Axemble, it is rather the opposite. Basically, EPDM accepts 2 versions HIGHER than the EPDM version.

We are in 2013 on EPDM so, in theory, it should accept until SW 2015.

Afterwards, I was already in SW 2014 before the accidental installation of SW 2013 and everything worked, I don't think it comes from there. On the other hand, the fact that you installed SW2013 may have changed the default version of SW to 2013 and, since the uninstallation, EPDM is therefore lost.

I don't know but I'm in the middle of uninstalling SW2014 to reinstall cleanly.

My memory failed me then!!! it's aps 2 lower versions but superior: you have to trust Axemble and not what I just said!!!!.

If you have access to the EPDM admin, you can do the test of deporting the automation of your PDF and STEP to another workstation (which has SW of course).... if it can help you while waiting to find the problem on your workstation.

Reinstallation completed and... everything works!!

Thank you very much:)
