Link the Leaf Scale

Hello

Is it possible to link the scale of different sheets in a plan?

I'd like a solution that doesn't require the intervention of the average user (so it excludes a macro that would have to be launched manually).

Hello

To my knowledge it's not possible, but I'm going to investigate!

I found an option, which may answer the question, and that is autoscaling. When this option is disabled, SolidWorks uses the drawing sheet view and does not change the scale on its own based on the part or assembly:

Autoscaling

The Autoscale New Drawing Views option in the System Options - Drawing dialog box controls the scaling of new views, as follows:

  • When enabled, the SolidWorks software automatically scales the views to fit on the drawing sheet. The scale of the sheet then becomes the same as that of the views.

  • When disabled, views are inserted across the drawing sheet.

When you insert projected views, auxiliary views, and section views, the Use Parent Scale option is enabled by default. If you change the scale of the parent view, the scale of all child views that use the parent's scale is updated.

.PL, thank you for this investigation but that's not it...

The function you are proposing will change the scale so that the views fit in the sheet.

In my case, I want when the user chooses a scale and that it is applied to all sheets.

Hello

It is possible to link the text of the title block in order to retrieve the scale of the sheet (just link the text to the "SW-Sheet Scale" property). But that might not be what you want! This is to be done on each of the sheets of the drawing. It is not possible, to my knowledge, that by changing a scale, it has an impact on all the sheets.

Kind regards

Yes, I understood correctly, but that's what I thought, there is no solution for all the sheets to be at the same scale (which I had indicated in my first message).

So by unchecking the option, the inserted views are indeed at the scale of the sheet and SolidWorks does not change the scale on its own.

Nothing better to offer!

Otherwise, it is possible to make an enhancement request to SolidWorks, see this tutorial:

jmsavoyat : "It is not possible, to my knowledge, that by modifying a scale, it has repercussions on all the leaves."

That's what I'm looking for.

Hello

I arrive, and I confirm that this is not possible in automatic.

This can be done via a macro, but that's it =)

Sorry

On the other hand, if you want to change all the scales of the views of the same sheet, you just have to select all the views and change the scale in the left pane.
