Link multiple parts families together

Hello 

Following my previous post about DriveworksXpress, I turned to parts families to create my products.

I have a new problem:

I can create configurations in my product by adding a line in the part family of it, I can do the same thing in the part family of my part and I can use the config of my part in my product. So far, no problem.

My problem is that I would like to be able to create a config in my part and change a dimension of it, but directly from the file of the part family of my product. Maybe by linking excel files together or something like that.

 

Anyone have an idea?

For the current question, I don't really see how to achieve this for the moment I am thinking about it and if I find a solution I will come back to you.

As PL suggests, the simple + is to use external sheets to manage the families of parts because Excel has no problem making links between different files: it is therefore possible to control x child files by a parent file.
