Hi all
On the server where the pdm runs (SolidWroks Workgroups PDM 2013) I restarted the SolidWroks Workgroups PDM service.
If I want to access the PDM, a message appears : " reconstruction of tree information..."
It's been going on for 3 hours now.
If I restart the server it could damage the PDM ?
Regards
I don't know PDM but 2 things:
- If you have restarted the service, it means that it has stopped. It would be interesting to know why... If the shutdown was sudden, it is likely that the database was damaged, hence the reconstruction. Depending on the amount of data, it is normal that it takes time (the system has to access the files one by one to know the links they have.
- restarting the server, will not improve anything since it will cause a new shutdown of the service which will resume its reconstruction at startup.
Hello
Thank you for the information.
In reality, the PDM's service did not come to an abrupt end! I stopped it manually because it had crashed. Then I restarted it, it runs for a while then crashes again (no longer possible to access the PDM).
Then I stopped the service and restarted and I re-indexed the vault, except that it takes much longer than usual and the ram fills up on the server so I don't know if there is a problem. Hence the doubt of a restart
Re-index the chest to prevent it from crashing too regularly.
"I stopped it manually because it had crashed." = abrupt stop
The question to ask yourself is: why was there a crash? what's more, 2 times.
I think that launching the reindexing while a reconstruction is in progress overloads the server (it does roughly 2 times the same job).
If you can stop the reindexing cleanly, I think it will be better.
And try to contact your support if no one else comes to your rescue here.
