I'm a draftsman and we're currently in the process of deploying Solidworks 2022 SP3.1 Standard in a company that used to run on AutoCAD. I know a little about Solidworks in terms of drawing but not really in terms of configuration.
We started working before we had finalized the file properties, and would like to be able to modify the specific properties of the documents in batch. In this case, it's about 200 drawings where you would have to change the line weights, the line style, the detail views as well as all the fonts (we started in Century Gothic before deciding to switch to Arial).
Is there a way (not paid, I specify) to modify these properties in batch? Whether it's a macro to launch when opening the file or a MyCADTools style tool (which we don't have) that does everything in batch.
The easiest way if you have no knowledge of macro is the trial version of MyCadTools with Integration, no programming knowledge needed.
PS to complete @Ll to save the Wrapping Standard, open a correct MEP, then Tool, Option, Document Property, Wrap Standard, and save to an external file.
It is this standard that must then be retrieved in each MEP with Integration or macro
We created a skin standard and discovered that even once it is applied, any modification to this standard requires an opening and then re-application of the standard (for me it should be automatic since it is applied to the document...)
We'll consider the MyCADTools trial when we're sure we've put all the parameters we want in place (it wouldn't be about wanting to change things the day after the trial period ends hahaha).
If you have several workstations, install it on 1 only in case or to be able to use the 2nd later...
And also take the opportunity to look at the other utilities, it remains very interesting to save time on many tasks, for a rather modest cost in the end.
For all intents and purposes, I remind you of the existence of a Solidworks tool that is too often forgotten (which you can find in the start menu at the letter O); Task scheduler. Let's see if it can change the settings you want.
