Mechanically welded

Hello

I created a footbridge and a guardrail in welded mechanics. They are in 2 different part files.

My design now leads me to merge these two pieces. Indeed, the railing will be welded on the bridge and no longer bolted as I had planned at the beginning.
Is there a solution to merge these two parts into one and to be able to make a drawing with a mechanically welded table grouping all the elements?

You can make an assembly of the two by creating a new assembly.

All you have to do is add a bill of materials and check include the list of welded parts.

Bart's solution should work, but I'll re-design it, so that it's clean.

That's just my opinion. :)

Good luck.

Hello

If your design is under Inventor, there is in New/Welded Construction.

See attached

+1 with Benoit but I just did the test: with SW it is possible to copy and paste functions from one part to another, all that remains is to recalibrate a few sketch constraints

HS: @pierre.marie, to find out which software we are talking about, you have to look in the name of the tab of your browser, in this case: "Forum SOLIDWORKS Mechanosoudé... "
