I can't find the option to hide the lines (red dotted line)

Display> Area Line.

Hello

 

Just uncheck the show grid option.

option -> Document Property -> Grid/Snap -> Show Grid

On SW2015 (my version), it's only Area Line > Display.

This is not the grid we like here. The red dashed lines represent the area lines.
