Measurement and part family

Hello

I have built a family of parts and in this one I would need to take a measurement and that this measurement is found in my excel table which controls the family. I tried to create a sketch and put a piloted side on it but the latter doesn't seem to be able to be included in the painting since it doesn't drive anything...

Do you have a tip, I have more than 200 pieces...

I specify that in no case can I have this value by any calculation given the basic geometry of my parts...

Thank you all.

Hello

But how do you get this measurement in the excel table??? If you create a phony sketch and put a phony dimension on it, then to put it in the excel table and then you do = at the box you want to measure, the dimension of the sketch will follow according to the confirmation and you will have the measurement...

Hello

I don't really understand your question, but you can take a property that's equal to the value of this dimension and import it into your room family.

This "measurement" you can maybe get it in a custom property rather to be able to export it later in an Excel file.

flegendre, it's copy and paste..., the idea is the same.

Good evening

There is no need to go through a custom property, SW allows you to put the piloted dimensions in a family of rooms.

The only danger is that in excel, it allows you to modify the value even if it's a controlled coast. No changes will be made to the model but it can be dangerous if you use this value for calculations in excel.

The solution is, in excel, to put the column in protected mode and lock the workbook.

Kind regards.
