For my part, when I have to rebuild a part containing surface, I ask for the Native not the STEP.

If I don't have the software, I get a trial version.

The fact of having the native allows you to have access to curves, sketches, dimensions, constraints, design intention etc more than to find the equivalent functions in my software

Then I unstack the build steps one by one in the Native file and recreate them identically (for me in CATIA V5).

@stef, can you explain a little more about your stp solution?

The basic idea: you put yourself in 3D sketch mode, you select the edges  you want to keep, you use the "convert entities" tool.

In your particular case, there are edge roundings, so you have to be a little clever to find the fictitious edge by playing with the surfaces (cf pj in SW2015)
