Just out of curiosity, I would like to know the different methods of each one to dimension a sketch and then a part (drawing). Dimensioning of the sketch in relation to a fixed point? Determination of functional dimensions? Location of the origin?, .....
How is it going in your companies in terms of quotation? How are you judged on your quotations?
Thank you all for bringing your experiences. Have a nice day ;-)
It's not very complicated, in my current company we only put the dimensions and everything else goes through dxf (yes, we have hyper evolved quotation!)
On the other hand, when I was doing the machine spec, it was a different story. Everything started from a support face, which gives a fixed point with the conjugation of the 3 faces but not always. Indeed, it could happen that a face was more interesting next to it than the one induced (basically, they are not necessarily con-comitent)
So, for the point of origin ... ba the supplier manages. We just wanted the piece to be good with our ribs^^
And you were judged in the end if it was up or not
I dimension everything in functional dimensioning, they come from my dimension chains. much easier to modify when there are assembly problems or other.
