Microfiche CAD scanning

What are microfiche? ^^

James Bond brought you plans of the USSR!!

Do you have a DSLR (lens camera) available?

Because you can use any lens, even a basic 18-55 lens, by returning it with this very inexpensive adapter: http://goo.gl/YQ4IY5 for making impressive macro.

With microfiche in front of a light source (neon, or window), and a little patience, it's quite doable!

Bond my name is James Bond lol

So for information, microfiche is transparent sheet of paper in a format of 11 by 15 on which a multitude of plans are engraved.

So I got some data from a caterpillar traxcavator 922A (and no it's not Russian but rather from  the other side) with all the detailed assembly plans of this wheel loader from December 1978

on 4 sheets I have about 400 plan and assembly instructions

Macro photography is not the best solution if used alone. It is necessary to have a translucent light surface to get the information out of the negative

And with a video projector that you try to set to zoom in as much as possible?

(I say that, I don't say anything) ;p

@Joss the video projector is very good when you have the image, but there the problem is already to extract the image.....

Oh, I understood that you only wanted 4 of the 110 shots!

Indeed, if you want all the shots, the macro photo solution will be very tedious!

yes, there are readers on leboncoin for 50 euros, but you can only display, but not scan!

Not really a practical solution!

It's huge your "lenses for macro" PL.

I didn't know, do you think it exists in universal? For the moment I only have a bridge and so I'm a little restrained...

Hello

Have you tried this.

Good luck.

@Bart @Hors-topic

I don't think it's compatible with your bridge because on a bridge, you can't remove the lens!

On a DSLR, you use the lens upside down!

@ christian, it's the same text as my link so there aren't many solutions

Well, I did a little research.

Wholesale

- Either you have your microfiche on your pc so there, you just have to convert them to dxf or other via a converter.

-Either you have microfiche physically, and then you need a special scanner or go through an annex company.

You can always try to tinker with your scanner to zommer in the middle, then run a trait recognition.

A link that may interest you: http://www.algolab.com/r2v.htm (convert any image to dxf. not tested)

What format are your sheets? (I'm a novice in this, but a brain of + is not too much =) )

@bart, they are about 11mm by 15mm wide (it's American format)

For the moment I have found only used microfiche readers from garages (but I don't know what the size of the cards is in France)

there is a printer viewer for 150€ but the printer is defective....

otherwise the special cannon scanner used at 1000€ (it hurts to invest this price in an old thing to consult old plans)

I have to find a viewer and then with a camera take a picture.

this one could be processed by the software you indicated previously

What about a slide scanner? Can't it work?

Hello

You take a light tablet to read the negatives or slides... it's the thing we don't do anymore since the air of the pixel 8-)

A good tripod and a reflex + macro lens. you should be able to do something simpa :-)

The slide scanner is too small, my index card is too big.

But your software seems to be the solution@bart with a photo is a scan and an ocr

well I'm going to go buy the viewer and test it

Ba you told me that it was 11mm by 15mm, I have a slide and negative scanner at home, I paid 30 euros for it, and it works very well =)

After that, the recognition of the features, that's not complicated;)

Good luck!

@Bart oops 110mm by 150mm => didn't transcribe the 4/5 inch well

Here's what it looks like on a reader
