Hello
With matweb, it is possible to retrieve material data specific to a brand of plastic or steel grade.
But it pays off... so to see according to the use!

When a new version of the Sustainability database is available, you can update the materials database by downloading it from the Materials dialog box in SolidWorks or from the Sustainability website.
Table of Contents
The best practice is to update the database from the Material dialog box in SolidWorks.
If you are protected by a firewall or need assistance with modifying your SolidWorks installation, you can download material updates from the web.
Hello
New to SolidWorks 2014 is that SolidWorks has contracted with Matereality, which allows access to a vast library of materials that is normally paid for, provided you are under a maintenance contract. Normally, new imports should be done directly on the SolidWorks Materials page.

Really nice, I wasn't aware of this new feature so thank you ;)
PS: Being on a maintenance contract with Axemble, we may be entitled to it?? :P
@jose-accessa: Yes since your maintenance contract purchased from Axemble is a SOLIDWORKS maintenance contract... Unless of course you have only bought access to the hotline without buying a "classic" maintenance contract
What could be nice is to be able to exchange OUR material reference updates in SW!
We could possibly ask for an 'Update' section in the spirit of the 'Tutorials' section where we would deposit our updates.
If it is difficult to find these updates on the net (paid sources, need for assistance contracts...) why not share on community sites? What do you think?
Cédric.
It's a maintenance contract so it's very good news!
CAREFUL: Matereality is only available with a Simulation pro maintenance contract!!
After the solidworks materials are stored in a .sldmat file... So if someone makes this material database file, either manually or by download, it's easy to make it available on the web and integrate it into Solidworks.
so I agree with Cédric on this point!
