I just updated solidworks to go from version 2017 to 2018 2.0, all of them are fine but the problem is that I just opened an assembly created the day before (in version 2017) and that the assembly is still being updated since 1h30, The assembly contains 25 folded sheet metal parts and a few extrusion parts .
Can you tell me if the loading time is normal or not?

Or in addition the installation was not done in the "rules of the art" with complete removal of Solidworks 2017 (purge of the registry also since SW leaves it everywhere). 2017 to 2018 there is, to my knowledge, no big revolution so no reason for a file to be complicated to convert.
