Drawing, icon for assembly instructions

Hi all

My question concerns the drawings, I'm on Solidworks 2016.

From time to time I have to make assembly instructions or user manual. Unfortunately we don't have solidworks composer.

So I have to insert icons and a caption.

Example: the symbol of an oil can for lubrication, the symbol of a wrench for a tightening torque, etc.

I insert my icons as an image (JPEG or PNG) but it's not practical at all. and in addition it doesn't follow the drawing views if you move them...

Is there a more appropriate method? How do you proceed?

Hello

Why not try to find them in DXF on the net and then make them into blocks that you can insert as you want just by dragging them from the library....

not stupid!

Making an icon library in DXF is an idea. I'll give it a try to see if it's easier to use.

Hello

If you can't find the dxf directly, there are free tracing software such as Inkscape that will allow you to create the dxf from an image.

The best solution is to make blocks as ac cobra 427 says.

Either you find DXF or DWG already made, you can also create your own "icons".

Example, below are the ones I use:
