SW 2014 plan impossible to open with eDw 2014?

Hello

I have a problem with Sw and eDw 2014, I can't open a drawing made on SW 2014 with the eDrawings 2014 (eDw PRO 2014 SP0 V14.0.0.5006).

Whereas a 2013 MEP works with eDw 2014.

SW 2013 and/or 2014 assemblies and parts work very well on eDw 2014.

When I open a 2014 MEP on eDw 2014 I get an error message that tells me:

-->"Scan error not supported.

Please document the error."

-->"Error reading file"

Does anyone know why it doesn't work?

A problem with the youth of the 2014 version? Or a temporary bug? Or a bad handling on my part? Or something else?

Thank you for your help.

Nicholas.

Hello

Like that, without having tested, I would say a (temporary) bug...

I'll look at it immediately and I'll get back to you...

I tested...

Creation of an empty MEP with SLD 2014. No problem to open it with eDw 2014 (same version as you)

Creating an MEP with a part (created with SolidWorks 2014), again, no problem of opening...

Does your MEP have specific elements (nomenclatures, etc.)?

Have you tried with a completely different MEP?

No problem for me either!

The problem you are having is on all the drawings or just one in particular?

Eventually I want to try to open one of your files (to be uploaded here) on my computer to see if I get the same error message.

I have 2D views + perspective + nomenclature.

Yes, it does it to me on all MEPs.

I try without the name, I also try with a blank MEP and I tell you what.

To all.

Well, I have news,

In my cartridge I have an image (jpg) logo of the company integrated into my background, and it's the one that screws me *****up!

When I remove it from my MEP, I manage to open it with eDw. (give it a try to see if it does it for you too).

The problem is that I can't remove it, the logo has to stay on the MEPs that we send to subcontractors or customers.

Do you have a trick that will allow me to keep this logo?

.... what seems weird is that on SW 2013 it worked very well?

Good evening

Indeed I have the same problem as you with a cartouche comporatnt a logo.

I check with the hotline if the problem is reported.

Kind regards

Same with me... the jpeg logo means that I can't open the MEP.

A bug that I think will be quickly corrected... and which is specific to eDw 2014 SP0. So there will be a fix...

Thank you very much for your help.

All that remains is to wait for the right fix.

In the meantime I'll see if I can tinker with something for the logo.

See you soon.

Nicholas.

A priori there is nothing reported at Solidworks on this subject, so this bug must be reported so that it can be corrected... which I did!

I just got the bug number for this problem: SPR 739562

While waiting for a response from SolidWorks, you can try converting your logo to a SolidWorks file. For example in my cartridges the logo of my company is "vectorized" (I'm not sure of the term), so no transfer problems, and even if you zoom in it all the way it remains sharp since it's vectorized!

Another advantage of this technique, if you need to export your drawing to AutoCAD for example, you keep your logo intact!

It remains to be seen if it is applicable in your case
