SW Custom Symbol Layout

Hello

Is it possible to insert a pre-saved custom symbol when creating a solidworks drawing?

In my case, I would like to indicate the direction of the grain of the wood on each of the drawings of the pieces.

Thank you for your help =)

Do you have to create your image library and insert it to the right of your drawing

Hello

You can also put it directly on the drawing. You create your symbol as you wish, and then you save your basemap in . DRWDOT with the name that goes well and during each MEP it will appear.

Hello

To create a symbol you can do it by editing the gtol.sym file, a bit of a hassle to find sometimes.

Explanation here:

If you can, start with an existing symbol.

Can you put a diagram of the symbol you would like to make?

Here's a question I raised about Gtol.sym:

By tinkering, you can create a lot of symbols!

Hello

And with a Macro recorder it wouldn't be possible to do what you want?

After fiddling a little by taking a little of each of your proposals, I arrived at something that suits me not too badly =)

I made a little tutorial (see above),

but I'm still posting here my solution
