In 3dvis Composer I would like to know if it is possible to display some parts of an assembly in shaded mode with edges and others in silhouette mode. All on the same face.

This is quite possible, you have to put yourself in custom rendering and in the properties of the geometric actors you can choose different rendering mode according to your choice
