Modifying Materials in a SolidWorks Assembly

Hello

I'm looking to change the materials of the parts in my assembly without needing to open every part file in solidworks 2016.

Is it possible to do it directly in the assembly?

Thank you

To my knowledge, no

since each piece has its own materials, its own personalized properties

And it's a good thing it's happening like this

otherwise it would be the big bazzaarrrr ;-)

If your assembly is open, you expand the tree and you can edit the materials of each part from the assembly.

Sorry to contradict you but in my opinion yes it is possible

You select the parts whose material you want to edit in the tree (using CTRL or SHIFT) > you hold SHIFT or CTRL and right-click > material > edit the material

Just this morning I added (not modified, but there's no reason why it shouldn't work) a material to all the parts of an assembly

(or maybe I misunderstood and that's not what you were trying to do^^ )

With the help of your advice, I searched for lunch and  I managed to modify the materials.
I went to "visualization assembly", selected all my elements and then right-clicked > material > edit the material.
Thank you all.
