No respite for those who like challenges! Here we go again for a new design challenge theme
This new challenge is organized on the occasion of the myCAD 2023 event which will take place from October. The theme of this new challenge is: "Create your own home robot with advanced features"
Design your home robot and invent new features for it! Will they help on a daily basis? And in the future?
Several issues arise:
Innovation : Does the robot offer an original solution to an existing problem? Does it incorporate new ideas into its design or operation?
Functionality : Does the design of the robot allow it to perform its primary function effectively? Are the robot's characteristics and capabilities clearly defined and achievable?
Technical design : Is the design of the robot technically sound? Does it take into account material and mechanical constraints, durability, energy efficiency, etc.?
Aesthetics : Is the design of the robot aesthetically pleasing and attractive? Is it designed in such a way that it blends harmoniously into the home environment?
Feasibility : Is the design of the robot realistic and feasible with current or foreseeable technologies and materials in the short term?
Sustainability and environmental impact : Is the robot built to last? Does it use sustainable and eco-friendly materials? Is it easy to maintain and repair?
The winners will therefore be chosen by category:
1 winner in the "new features" category: are they original and necessary today?
1 winner in the "technical design" category: the design is sharp and is in line with the robot's functionalities
1 winner in the "feasibility" category: the robot can be built tomorrow and used in the future
Hello Very interesting and quite complicated theme. I think @DoubleL're going to design a great robot for us! @DoubleL , I can't wait to see your design, I enjoy it every time. Happy design and thank you for your great proposals!
Nice challenge (and strangely I think it's a topic I put in the last poll launched, I shouldn't be the only one to believe). On the other hand, absolutely no time to look into it.
Hello @Cyril.f and happy birthday!! Indeed this challenge is not the easiest, that's why you have 4 months to do it (well counting the month of August you will tell me...) And yes for the subject I was inspired by the ideas you had before
it's more about an artificial intelligence A robot that would be almost human in the end, that would be able to solve tasks that we don't want to/can't do!
Is it a competition that you can participate in as a group/team? Can we start with something other than the humanoid which is generally in the collective imagination?
Because I've been looking for some time now for people competent in mechanics/design to launch a robotics project on this theme (my "idea": a dining table/kitchen island with 2 robotic arms, in short I've already brainstormed a lot on the subject, but I'm not going to spoil here :P), but I'm in the software, and I only have a few basics in mechanics and Solidworks, So I'm looking for partners with a complementary profile to mine (by the way, is there a place specialized for this kind of classified ads?).
Hello @coincoinjco , Of course, you can participate as a team and submit a proposal to several people! It is sometimes even more interesting to use the resources of each person to arrive at a finished conception
In terms of the subject, it is very broad, the term "robot" does not necessarily indicate a human but in the idea it is an intelligence that will allow you to carry out various actions; I hope this is clearer to you
In a way, this challenge is an illustration of the progression of man in history; "Invent in 4 months what humanity has taken millions of years to achieve".
