New CAD forum: test it and give us your feedback!

Concerning your avatar this problem will soon be solved, the next time you connect it will be restored

Another thing about the points, I find it surprising to limit the XP points on the right answers and not on the questions.
In addition, a question =50XP while a correct answer =100XP (and limited to 10 correct answers per month - 1000 XP)
For my part, we encourage more to ask questions than to answer them by proceeding in this way.
2 questions = 1 correct answer to progress in XP point it is better to ask a lot of questions and then make it last with lots of answers like that on our answers we can have one or more likes and XP points (20XP/likes).
I'm afraid that with so little difference between questions and answers, the quality will degrade.

Good evening
I'm not as enthusiastic as some people. This new forum seems to me to be very unfriendly. For me, a forum is mainly to ask questions when adversity forces us to humility and ask for help. Also, a large "Ask your question" button at the top of the first page seems essential to me. This big button should open an email-like interface with a paper clip to add attachments. Classic without originality as artificial as it is out of place. Nothing of the sort. I answered a question from someone without knowing when my answer was published or even if it was.
Similarly, I asked a question but there is no "send" button. I have the impression that it was published but how could it be, I didn't do anything explicitly for it.
Similarly, how do you send this message? Should the reply button be understood as "send"?
As for the help and the "guided tours" it is all inactive...
The intuitiveness put forward must be a little too much in front for me, I don't have the right glasses

Hello Pierre,

Sorry to see that the new forum does not satisfy you; However, we have made sure that you find all the functions of the old forum: the big changes have been made especially in terms of the site's performance: optimization, speed...
To answer your various points:

  • You will find the " create a question " button at the top of the home page:

  • In addition, an interface opens when you want to create a question or post an answer, with the possibility to add your attachments like this:

  • In addition, the forum is instantaneous, your answer will always be automatically placed after your colleagues' answers. And I can confirm that the " answer " button corresponds to a " send " because you are indeed answering, by definition, a question.

I hope I have reconciled you with this new forum, which unfortunately, I mean, cannot please 95,000 members...! We strive to meet your expectations as much as possible and your feedback is of course always welcome.

Have a nice day
Coralie

Hello @tous
Coralie, on my side I have this hand that prevents me from accessing the buttons, yet I have accepted the cookies,

Hello @Lynkoa15 and @ac_cobra_427,
Even if you have accepted cookies, we must leave the button so that you can manage your consent at any time.
We raised it slightly in the page so that it no longer hides the buttons on smartphones.
Have a nice day

That's fine with me, thank you very much

New very nice interface, on the other hand there are no more notifications when the people you follow publish a question or an answer on the forum

I was surprised by the design but finally I find my little ones.
I just discovered the little line that indicates the last visit, the " New " button with the indication of the number of new subjects.
In terms of flaws, I find that the boxes that delimit the subjects are too large (there is a lot of wasted space around the text: see the red area on the screenshot below) and as a result few subjects are displayed simultaneously.
The preview of the beginning of the question is good, but why is the text " read more " sometimes straddling, sometimes on the 4th line?

Also the possibility to enlarge an image by clicking on it and that the quality is preserved.
On the other hand, it's a shame to have to go and find the button to edit your message in the 3 points.

As much as limiting the number of responses receiving xp makes sense to avoid an abusive flood, limiting the number of solutions provided receiving xp makes no sense. If the answer is a solution, chosen by the author of the question, it must be rewarded, whether it is the first or the 150th of the month. Otherwise we may end up being tempted to wait until the end of the month to bring our solution, just to reset the quota and gain xp.
In short, a quota of responses; Nothing against it. A quota of solutions; against.

For my part, I'm struggling to stay logged in and that the forum remains accessible for more than 5 minutes on the PC. I was able to discuss with the team about this problem that obviously and strangely I am the only one to have :thinking:

I take this opportunity to point out a historical bug that is still present; the delivery of the forum in English at each login. (By saving the setting from the smartphone, the bug seems to be solved (edit: ah well finally no...))

Hello @eliott.metra
If this "hand" button could migrate into the menu bar, it would be much less invasive (not to say invasive) than superimposed on the interface. Thank you.

PS: I liked the Lynkoa logo better than the new myCAD :sob:

Hello Coralie,
In my case, there is no problem of "slow start-up". Not yet developed the new forum. But in any case, it seems nicer and more responsive to me.

Kind regards

I haven't yet fully grasped the nuance between " Reply to this message " and " Reply to this Subject "...

there are still a few quacks (from youth?) between Lynkoa.com and Forum.lynkoa.com ...

I Site: " The best answer was chosen by on the question " ...

You will have to choose a logo too: one day it's " Lynkoa ", the next it's " MyCad "...

I would prefer a " Back " button on the fixed banner (at the top) rather than clicking on the Logo.

Are the " Clap " and " Confetti" emojis really necessary (yup! shy old... and grumpy)

But I like:
Adding images in message bodies is much simpler. (Perhaps missing a framework for readability?)
Dynamic preview while typing.
Categories (they deserve to be more prominent)
The spelling/grammar checker

Kind regards.

Hello @DoubleL , unfortunately not yet... Because the subscription is specific to Lynkoa, but it's part of the points of improvement!

Hi all
Thank you for your comments which are all taken into account and studied for the improvements of the site. Indeed, a forum as rich and complete as Lynkoa's is not easy to change overnight.

Finally, as you can see, the new features we have told you about so much are being implemented and will be officially announced tomorrow! So you have access to these new features in preview! More explanations tomorrow...
Good afternoon everyone,

The difference between answering the subject and answering the message is that the 1st answers the original question, the other answers your answer directly, as I do here. In the latter case, your avatar will be visible on the right in my answer.

I finally understood but the difference is subtle in the display...

Hence my suggestion in another topic, for the nesting of sub-answers
