NX8.5, How to Constrain a Sketch to the Part Edge

Hello

I'm looking for how to constrain a stroke (or other) of a sketch that has been created on a surface in relation to an edge of the piece.

When I project the geometry (or the edge of my part) I can constrain my sketch with it but the problem is that the projected geometry is part of the sketch and when I want to make an extrusion of my sketch, the projected lines make a mess...

If you know how to use the edges of the piece to constrain a sketch without having to project them, please help me.

Hello

Maybe by creating a 3D sketch of this line (converting the entities) and using this sketch rather than the edge itself?

Hello

it is possible to convert the entities and then you have to select them and on the left check "for construction" and these edges will no longer be a problem, otherwise it is possible to place dimensions between an edge of a 3D part and a sketch.

Hi sven.14

Look at this link

you'll probably find what you're looking for it's in English

@gt22,

Thank you but this video is for SW not for NX.

Well, in fact we were all fooled....

I also thought it was for SW, mea culpa

sorry I didn't get it for NX

shame on me; '-(

video is good for SolidWorks

No problem ;-)

You have to project the geometries and if you don't want them to appear in the sketch, you have to convert them into axes/references.

Hello

It is also possible to constrain the entities of the sketch without projecting the curves. However, to have access to the selection of entities located outside the sketch, you must activate the appropriate setting in the selection bar ("In the workpiece only" at least, instead of "In the active sketch only").
