Opening a 3DS file

Good evening

 

If you have a premium version, by activating the "scan to 3d" add-in, you can directly open your .3ds file in SolidWorks.

On the other hand, if you have a standard or professional version, indeed, you have to be clever with another software and an import format.

Hello,

 

The polygon mesh format is "incompatible" with SOLIDWORKS. These are two different technologies.

 

if you convert it to stl or obj, you won't be able to open it in solid because it's too big.
