Hello, I have the honor to have a Draftsight premium pack whose license no longer works due to the fact that it has not expired. For your information, the premium pack works with a "DS License Server" license server identical to Catia.
Can anyone help me?
Draftsight 1.4 on Windows 7 64bit and DSLS-V6R2012x on the same machine.
In fact, in early October 2013 (a few days ago), all Draftsight licenses went to expired (Version 1.3). After research, I found that Draftsight was forcing the migration of software versions by forcing the expiration of versions below 1.31. So I downloaded a Beta 1.4 version (so up to date) and when I started the installation I told it that I would like to connect to the license server. Despite setting up Draftsight and checking that my licenses are active, Draftsight can't find it. So I can't use my macros. For your information, I went back to the developers in the States... But no concrete answers... Draftsight doesn't work, it stands out and above all, without the license ("premium") I don't have access to my favorite features.
Obviously, you have to run on Fedora or Ubuntu, and in this case, indeed, it's a beta V1R4.0
As in all betas, there can be bugs... And if the US support didn't know how to tell you anything, it's because you're the first to have reported this bug.
With a bit of luck, it will be corrected when the "non-beta" version is released...
In fact, the beta versions were the 1.3 under Windows 7 64 bits. Version 1.4 is an R version. But it doesn't work. I especially think that the Premium Pack is not used in a general way! Except that to make scripts it's necessary. (Script for re-importing Tell -> DWG files, purged, good font,....).
In your last answer a word calls out to me, attracts my attention and awakens my senses!! Laughing out loud.
Jokes aside, you're using a version of the Tell software with which you've converted files to DWG. Can you tell me more about this conversion? It may be possible to put the files in the right format directly in Tell and before converting them. The latest versions of this software have brought real improvements in this regard.
To answer Dpusel, Draftsight forces updates from previous versions by applying "Expired version" even though in fact we had 6 months of rights left. As a result, it is no longer possible to use old versions (in October 2013, it was all before 1.31). The worst thing is that it was in a well-hidden Draftsight US newsletter that the information was found. When in the space of 1 week 5 positions (1 premium and 4 normal) expired a bit randomly, it was panic. I have more than the premium one left at default.
Effactively we have 2 PCs (very old) with TELL 2011. We have a macro (under Tell) that does bulk conversion of TELL files to DXF and PDF. Then we have some scpits under "DOS" windows7 that dispatch the files, and launch Draftsight with a macro (processing about 40,000 files, some of which are very old and large). In Draftsight, the macro purges, inserts the new title block (same format as the drawings in Solidworks), updates the drawings (layers), modifies the fonts, the types of lines, ... I forgot, the Tell workstations are old (but very old under Windows 2000 so no update possible). We switched to SW a year ago for 3D on new workstations. Draftsight takes care of 2D. For your information, we also had old Autocad LT which are converted to Draftsight but in this case to Ubuntu version.
For your information, your Tell 2011 versions are fully compatible with Windows 7, except for the key on the parallel port which no longer exists on recent PCs in this case it is possible to switch to USB keys. So there's no need to install newer versions!
In fact, after a very long search, I found on my own that the client had lost its group under the license server. For the validation to be effective, Draftsight had to be uninstalled and reinstalled.
Now it's working at full speed again and my macros with it.
