Since yesterday, my new pieces have been the Metre (m) as their unit. Where can I change the default units for my new creations without doing it every time.

look at the bottom right there should be a small black arrow with MKS or there you can choose your units but then you will have to re-register your basemap model in .prtdot for the modification to be taken into account.

Is your solution only valid for drawings? I have the same problem every time I create a room, by default I have the imperial system...
