Set up a room

Hello

Is it possible to set the dimensions of a coin with a "mask"?

For example, I create a washer, I call the Ø ext A, the Ø int B, the thickness C and when I open my model, I click on the "mask" and I enter my values?

Hello

You can use the families of parts, it's not exactly that, but it's very practical. See this tutorial:

Then either go through the "Equations" section.
You fill in all your variables etc... Then when you open the file, you will have to open this pane.

Otherwise, you have to go through a macro but it's not the same job anymore... Especially if you want to do this to each of your rooms.

Hello

You can do this with configs and bind your values in the custom properties of the part.

Even better is to control your room via the personalized property questionnaire.

Hello

I would advise you to take a look at DriveWorks Xpress which is free and available in all versions of SolidWorks.

The principle is simple, capture the elements you want to control in your parts and assemblies, create your input form, and then define the relationships between the form and your models.

I am attaching a link that shows the possibilities of this technology:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMUajFOmQkg

I am sure that it will meet your expectations.

If you're interested, DriveWorks also has two other versions called DriveWorks Solo and DriveWorks Pro, which have much more configuration options.

An example of a website using DriveWorks Pro technology:

Kind regards

Hello

If you have myCADtools, the CloneComponents tool does this very well

That's what I wanted to say Bart but I didn't express myself well......

Hello

Like me, like @.PL  I use the parts families and you can even pair it with the Publisher configurator.

may the force be with you.

Thank you  for all your answers.

I have myCADtools but CloneComponents is not highlighted.

I think I'll try to make a family of pieces.

I can't find how to display the names of the parts on my model, yet everything is checked in annotation.

Hello

I didn't quite understand this:

"I can't find how the names of the parts are displayed on my model, yet everything is checked in annotation."

But maybe it would be easier to ask a new question because the subject is not really the same.

Hello

I think that's the best thing to do. If you want to see the name of the config I attach a doc.

In the 2011 I checked the name of the dimensions in the display menu and in the 2016 I can't find it anymore.
