You have to right-click on the file in PDM --> rename.
If rename is grayed out , it means that you don't have pdm rights.
You have to check with your administrator.
Renaming can be set up in folder rights, group rights, flows, etc.

I would add that to rename a component, it must not be called or must not have been referenced in any extracted assembly. Used the "used in" tab by selecting "All Versions" and "Show All Levels" to check it.
