In SolidWorks 2016, I would like to know if it is possible to associate a part family (at least one Excel spreadsheet sheet) with a derived configuration, and not associate a part family with a part?
In detail: I currently have a part of which a first configuration has fixing holes, a second configuration has fixing holes and a geometry modification and finally a third configuration that does not have a hole but has the geometry modification, and, I would like each of these configurations to have its own family of parts. Is this possible?
Hi, yes part families can handle derived configurations.
The best thing to do is to test it and you'll see that there 's nothing complicated. On the other hand, you will only have one excel table for all the configurations and derived configurations
