Can we make Autocad work in Ubuntu?

Hello. I would like to know if we can make autocad work in Ubuntu. Thank you for your help.

As far as I know, Autocad is not available on Ubuntu.

There is LibreCad which is an alternative to Autocad. Free Software of course.

See here

I haven't tested it, but it seems satisfactory.

Let us know about your possible test drive =)

Hello I recommend Draftsight which runs on Linux, and the latest version brings new features such as the design center.

Ah! If Draftsight runs on Ubunto, get Driftsight instead.

Even if personally, I've always had problems with it. But it's a special case^^

Hello

This is a question I have been confronted with.

So yes, there is librecad which is really not bad and Qcad which is even better but paying.

Draftsight is compatible but frankly, good luck with the installation, it's a disaster...

Here is a link with the recap of compatible software: http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/mecanique

Good luck!

thank you for this information I'll dig into the question;

Be careful with LibreCAD!! The DXF files created with it are not compatible with AutoCAD because of an error in the header of it, I managed to replace the header and open it with AutoCAD but it's a bit of research,

the very old version of autocad could work well under unbuntu provided you install WINE but there the tooltips do not appear nor the bare status

Good luck
