Hi all
Is there a solution to join their drawings to library components with CloneComponents?
I have assemblies and standard parts to reuse (and sometimes modify), which I have to make independent for each new project.
I also have their drawings, which I would of course like to reuse, as an independent copy as well.
I now work with pack&go, but I would have liked to have found something smoother in use, integrated into SW.
CloneComponents seems the ideal candidate for my need... except that I can't get the MeP to follow...
Hello
Indeed, it is not possible at this time to duplicate the associated drawing of a CloneComponent. However, we have an open request for improvement on this subject, I have attached you to it:
R&Dmy - Evolution #141931
Ability to duplicate the associated drawing with another name in another folder.
In the meantime, you can use another methodology by using the SmartProperties tool.
With this tool, it is possible to create a copy by also duplicating the associated drawing.
Here is the article corresponding to this methodology: https://www.visiativ-solutions.fr/comment-dupliquer-un-3d-avec-smartproperties/
Do not hesitate if you need more information.
Kind regards
Thank you fmarchand,
Good news, I hope this feature will be available soon, it's a real plus.
The ideal would be to be able to clone an assembly with all its components and MeP associated with the pack&go image, but in library mode!
Thanks for the tip with SmartProperties, which I had already seen, but no longer had in mind. It's good for a part, but not very useful for assembly, because it doesn't include the components. And requires to open the assembly/part beforehand (navigation in windows explorer).
So for me the pack&go remains the most practical in the meantime.
Kind regards
