Hello
I'm trying to find out if anyone has already drawn house plans thanks to solidworks, Catia or Creo?
Kind regards
I made mine on SW, but it was only for me
For a professional realization, I think the best is to look at specific architecture software
I would say that with AutoCAD, it is easier!!
most of the time, the house plans are in 2D!!
Have a nice day
Hi samuel;
Yes, under Catia, the plans for a veranda.
Well, it's a bit like using a rocket launcher to get rid of a mosquito but it's doable.
On the other hand, there are very good little specialized and free software on the web.
Cédric.
I designed and built my house and other Via sollidworks
mainly timber frames
Do a Google Search for Solidworks Wood Frame House

Under SolidWorks without any problem.
As an example, the edrawing of the ground floor of my house project .
Hello
As an Autocad fan, I had some problems matching the passages between the different floors. I finally broke my piggy bank and put 140€ in a software that did me everything well and even more than expected. The management is complete even with a sloping land (and to the c..). I was able to simulate the visit with furniture, all the lamps,... Day, night lighting, lamps (lighting simulation, switches,.... Shon and others are accurate and even the framework is very close: Micro Application 3D Expert architect cad (99€ basic and 149€ with the more complete libraries).
Very practical for insertion into the landscape (for the PC)
I compared it with the plans taken over by the manufacturer of my house, my software doesn't calculate the cost price, that's all, the rest is very close (150€ on a house, even a small one, it's worth it!).
I drew my house on SolidWorks for the planning of my renovation work.
Let's say that it's not necessarily the best tool to do it since Solidworks is not an architect's software but it's perfectly suitable for the use I had of it.
So checking the dimensions, surface for my building materials, passage, layout planning, etc.
Clearly if it's to edit a plan directly validable by an architect I'm not sure it can be suitable, on the other hand it can serve as a basis.
If it is for personal use where you can afford to free yourself from certain building standards, no problem.
I made my different apartments under SW, Catia and NX
But the best I did was my parents' house (for total restructuring) under Google SketchUp
Very easy to use, fun and very useful for simulating visits to the ... and free

Hello
I had to draw plans for timber frame houses.
The only thing I did with SW was the exterior rendering (wood cladding so nic).
When you get into the technical side, it's not so simple.
As a result: Autocad for the building permits and SEMA for the realization of the framework - framework.
I think it's quite possible to do everything on SW but it's not as simple and fast as a specialized software (the framework, for example, you'll have to do all the assemblies by hand...).
Good luck in any case:)
an idea of what can be done

And the point of this question, in the end, is it?
Good evening
Like everyone else yes I designed my house under sw. but for the 2D building permit plan, I used draftsight, it's like autocad, but it's free;)
Thank you all for your quick feedback on this issue.
My goal was mainly to find out if there were modules in one or the other of these specific software programs to easily draw plans and make a 3D modeling to actually see the rendering.
It is true that it is a bit like an atomic bomb to smash a fly.
Thank you all
on SW to make a house plan it's super simple
Repeat step 1/7 for the next level
for the roof slope(s) do after the elevation of the exterior walls
here is the B A BA
Why by level
it's to be able to easily see and arrange the levels, place furniture, see the passages, the lost spaces

Hi I'm an architect and I've designed plans with the S.W. it's beautiful, I advise you to try with Autocad or Archicad it's better.
