Why can't I archive by replacing the version?

Hello
When I check in a document, I usually use the " replace latest version " option to avoid generating too many file versions.

However, in some cases, the box is grayed out and I can't use this option.
I can't understand the logic behind this option.

When can I or cannot use the " replace latest version " option when archiving?

Thank you
Jérôme

Hello

I see only two possible cases:

  • Case of an assembly that calls a part that has been archived as a version replacement

  • The folder where the file is archived that prohibits the use of the function

Hello

In my opinion it is that the version should be considered as non-intermediate (the main revisions of the file) or is used by an MEP / assembly as a main revision.

Hello

I omitted the state setting that allows or does not allow version override, but as far as I know, the template parents don't affect whether you can do a version override unless they're checked out.
