Problem with the Solidworks Configuration Publisher

Hello!

I have a problem with the solidworks configuration publisher:

I use this software to automate the creation of certain profiles in my company. For example, when inserting a square tube you can insert the length of the tube and Solidworks will generate a new configuration at the desired length. Basically, I have a library on the network, and we just have to drag the files into the assemblies and choose the dimension. Perfect!

However I have a huge problem: sometimes (not always!), Solidworks does not save new configurations in the file. That is to say that as long as you don't close Solidworks everything is fine, it takes into account custom dimensions. But when you close and reopen the file, you get a lot of errors and it takes on random tube dimensions (among the existing configurations). When you go to the excel file of the family of parts, you can see that the custom configurations you have created are missing.

Any ideas of why Solidworks does this? It worked for a while and now suddenly it doesn't want to anymore!

Thank you and have a good day!

Hello Does this problem appear when there is a space at the beginning or end of a parameter by chance?

Hello

No, there is no space at the beginning or end or even in the middle of the settings. For the names of the configurations I use "CONCATENATE" formulas in excel, which can contain spaces in the middle of the names (but not at the beginning/end).

Otherwise I just saw that we have a similar problem reported on the solidworks site: This is a known and unresolved bug. . SPR #:718053 Product: SolidWorks Status: Open Fixed in: none none Area: Assemblies Sub-Area: Configurator Customer Impact: High Enhancement: No Summary: Configure component with configuration publisher does not produce correct results, values for new configs are set to defaults when edit design table

Oh yes indeed it looks like this, even if the bug appears when I open the assemblies and not when I open the design tables.

Just to check, when you were talking about parameters it was the name of the ribs in the room? (D1, L1, etc...)

Thank you in any case!

Just for the record, the only solution I've found so far is to open the parts files every time we add configurations and save them well. It seems to be working for now
