Problem with changing parts

Hello

I have a problem with SW2013 but I already have it with SW2012.

I create a piece and I have other similar pieces, but not the same size, so I make a composition to take away. I place my pieces in my assembly.

In my assembly I have the rep parts 100,101,102,103,104...

If I open part 102 (for example) I modify it, and I go back to my assembly  I don't have part rep100 that turns into rep102.

I hope I was very clear, is it already happening to someone else? And how to solve this problem?

Hello

When you talk about similar parts, is it a family of parts?

example of the step box but the size changes.

Hello

You have to "cut" the dependencies when composing to take away because otherwise your part will always copy the original part.

But the best would be to make a family of parts if it is only a question of changing odds.

Thomas

You made a take-home composition of the complete set without renaming anything, right?

So basically you duplicated a complete assembly with all the parts that were in it without changing the name but saving them in another folder, I understood correctly?

Then you reopen your assembly that you have just duplicated and when modifying one of your parts it is another part that modifies itself and changes its name?

hi LOLO L.A

if you open an assembly

and that you want to take a part x in this assembly

This said piece has a registration reference X

If you modify this said part X it will no longer be part X

but a piece must be given a new name

which will allow you to have a room x and a room y so 2 pieces

For the creation of a family of rooms see this great tutorial

 Hello LOLO L.A, hello everyone;

I quite agree with Tomalam that it would certainly be easier to go through the 'parts families'.

To do this, very simple:
