Smoothing problem with dxf import

Hello

I can't smooth this part, yet when I do the couple 1 and 2 it works but with 3 imposable.

Strangely enough, if I do 2 and 3 alone, it works, and that too with the couple 4.

I also attach to you by a second post the SW2013 file

here is the SW2013 file

I just did a test by drawing the couples using partial ellipses, it works.

So what's the problem with imported DXFs?

Hi @ diiity

post your dwf matters please

I don't understand your sketch  image among other things

the non-symmetry on your sketch 1 and , you should in my opinion

Create 2 sketches instead of 1 for better smoothing management

and constrain each sketch well

Yes indeed, I ended up finding it recently.

So I divided the guide curve sketch into 2, i.e. 2 sketches in right view and there it was much better with partial elipses. 9a works very well.

On the other hand, with DXF torque imports, it's not there yet but I'm getting closer.

It's been 4 days that I've been disappointed.

Good evening

As for the torques I agree with gt22, there is a logic that I don't understand, for having already made hulls I advise you to work more on a half hull and make a symmetry afterwards.

+1 also to make the torques coincide with the keel and the deck edge, when there is not a minimum constraint there is necessarily a risk.

For the smoothing function you can also select upside down, i.e. the keel + deck edge and the torques as the guide curve.

Also to see if you can join the front and back ends.

Good luck

But I work on half shells.

uh! it's not a boat but an airplane wheel fairing...

I didn't think it was possible to select backwards, thanks for the tip.
