In an ASM with my 2019 version I can select everything without exception (Edge faces, part in transparency, etc...), same on a single part. It also works with
Transparent cross-sectional view
On the other hand, for the parts alone, there is another solution which is the cutting tool ==> Insertion ==> Cutting (since 2019)
With this tool, you can make several simultaneous cuts, a bit like if you were making sketches with " entity conversion" Advantage: you don't have any sketches in your creation tree, and in case of modification of the tree, these views do not disappear if you hide a function in the tree. That's a lot of sketches, but they're isolated in a Cut folder. However, it doesn't give you a cut like in your example
You also have the interactive cutting tool, same advantage as " inserting cutting " (but which only works on a part (part) does not work on an ASM. You can make multiple shots in one go. Interactive shot shots are isolated in an " interactive shot shots" folder so it doesn't disturb the creation tree. Dynamic in the sense that any modification changes the cut without you having to do anything. This is different from converting an entity that remains in the state.
These two types of cut used in conjunction with the classic cut (like your image), it avoids in the design phase to switch every five minutes when you want to check.
Hello, I have the same problem on version 2022 SP2. I noticed something interesting: depending on the orientation of the view, the problem disappears!
If I look at the part from the cut (removed) part, I can't actually select edges or points. It's a shame because it's the logical point of view when you make a cut: You remove a piece to be able to see the inside.
But if you look from the other side, it works! I had small openings in the sheets, they allowed me to do it. By making the sheet in question transparent, it also works. If you hide it, it works too.
It's a trick that is not always easy to apply, but it can help.
