Hello, here I have two problems:
- I had to reset my option settings to 0 and since then I have my assemblies that keep shading as if I had applied a scene (see the photos below: usually to not eat too many resources, I try to have a rendering as simple as possible like on the first image to gain in comfort of use). Of course, I checked the view settings and I unchecked everything so I didn't have to use the real view, for example. Can't we remove this scene to go back to the original visual rendering?
- my second problem despite looking at my graphics card is still a mystery because I updated with the latest drivers, then I went back to my old drivers recommended by Solidworks but nothing changes. I don't know why when I make a section, it appears with display bugs (as if the part was a hollow body, see example below):
In short, if you had already encountered this problem and you had solved it, it would be strictly convenient for me because looking everywhere without ever finding any answer, I despair. For the first one, I think it must be quite stupid even though I can't find it and the second one makes me doubt my installation (while it has never failed me until today).
Thank you in advance... :)
Hello
Could you put the piece from your last screen in the post for us to take a look at?
Which version are you on?

I can, but I tested it on a colleague's PC and for the use of the View Section, he has no problems on his workstation. I think it's more related to a configuration somewhere...
But when in doubt, I attach a basic plan of a simple extrusion.
part1.sldprt
By the way, to get back to the first problem, here is what my assembly looked like before in terms of rendering with this part that I created quickly. As soon as you apply a scene, and you save it, it's impossible to find this rendering afterwards.
If there is no problem on your colleague's station; You can copy its settings and import them to your home.

This is not a bug, just a setting with the "cross-sectional view" function
in the function panel, check "Show section of the section"

Thank you Olivier42. In fact, someone must have used my position in my absence and changed these options because I never touch it. I do everything from the model for the selection of faces or cutting distances.
On the other hand, when we check "Show Section Cap" and "Graphics-only section" (yes sorry, I'm using a UK version of the software), I remain convinced that the result, in addition to making the cut totally unreadable, should be abolished from the possibilities offered by the function and results in a display bug for me.
1st problem solved, there is still the second: how to remove the visual rendering of a part to return it to its original state. Basically, I'd like my assembly to stay with the same rendering as the part I shared here before. I'm sure it must be something very stupid that I haven't explored yet on a checked function, etc...
Thank you again for your help. ;)
Hello
It reminds me of a fairly recent problem, the person had a weird view for his screws in the assembly it seems to me. you should take a look at it;)
Dimitri
Settings may change following the reset of your settings.
To keep the color of the PRT in section,
in the panel of properties of the cut,
to all 3 ticks = enable 1, disable 2 and 3
Is that the question? otherwise we would have to take new captures, I don't understand the question.
In fact the problem was simpler:
Apparently, when Solidworks creates a part, by default it puts an ambient light as well as 3 directional lights with certain values (including a specularity value -reflection if I understood correctly -sorry, I'm not an ace in image processing engineering lol-). Also by default, the first directional light was checked on an option "keep the light when the scene changes" but the other two were unchecked for this function. So, if by mistake I applied a scene to my assembly, it added new specularity values to these last 2 light sources and if I tried to go back to my original scene, as these 2 other lights were not kept, by default the software applied the same value of the last scene to these light sources.
In short, thank you again for your help. You are champions. :D
Subject closed.
ok, it was just the lights...
To close the subject, you have to "validate" the best answer, for your problem of cross-sectional view.
Thank you again for your help... In case someone has the same problem as me and is looking to find this famous data that bothered me a lot, the specularity values can be found by going to the "Display Manager" then clicking with the right mouse button on "Lights" and clicking on "Edit all lights". You change the light by clicking on the right and left arrows in the dialog window at the top right.
There you go... I'm still going to look at why my starting scene is not the same as my default scene because I just saw that when opening my room, the default scene has one star after the "3 point faded" while we haven't touched anything to our templates since using SW.
