Custom and variable property

Hello

I am trying to make appear in a nomenclature a value resulting from a calculation (in this case the developed length of a belt as a function of the center distance).

So I created a variable that receives the correct value through the equation manager.

I'm assigning this variable to a custom property.

On the other hand, if I make a composition to take away, it doesn't work anymore.

To bind my personal prop to the variable, I have to write "long@nomdelapiece.sldprt".

Where is the error?

Hello

There is a bug reported to SolidWorks (pack & Go = take-home composition) that looks like this:

Number: 434890

The name of the components/assembly used in Value / Text Expression of custom property has not been changed by 'Pack and Go'.

Status:
Open
Fixed in:
none
Enhancement:
No

So no solution...

Thank you, but I propose to rename you Cassandra...

So, we make a sketch whose dimension is controlled and this dimension is called in the personal prop.

Who is Cassandra?:)

Why not use arc length dimension in the first sketch and reuse it in the custom properties?

I think that's what he did@frederic
