For my part, I used a lot of TraceParts when I was working in aero on Catia V5 and the Toolbox since I've been on SolidWorks.
The problem that with the Toolbox I don't necessarily find all types of screws, for example: self-drilling screws. I saw that Visiativ had developed its own libraries but I don't know what it's worth. I also like the screws of the Toolobox because they are easily modifiable to create configurations or other.
That's why before I start or not in a new tool, I'd like some user feedback, so get your keyboards ;-)
The level of detail does not always correspond to the final needs, the control of properties is tricky (unused properties/phantoms, etc...)
And the "3D Imports" screws are an aberration, and generate a big waste of time...
The best library is the one adapted to the needs of the company, so the one developed in-house, with the desired and optimized level of detail, and total control of all the properties, etc...
If it's like pancakes, there's no picture, being also Breton (from the Nantes region ;-) )
Afterwards, if it's just to have the visual of a screw on a plan, configurable libraries especially in configuration save time rather than having all types of screws to create with all dimensions.
Hello, for me it's the same, the best screw library I have is the one I've been carrying around since high school and that I feed as and when I need it.
I think I'm going to start with the Visiativ library which can be easily integrated into SolidWorks in its entirety and which is a good base that we will enhance if necessary to finally have a homemade library ;-)
