I have several identical shapes to make on a part.for the design is it better to copy the sketch or to copy the function.thank you

I think the best solution is to make a repetition of the function, if possible: no info about your part.

This has many advantages:

  • A single sketch therefore all the elements is modified in one go.
  • Easily editable number settings.

The piece is of little importance.

Being a beginner in Solidworks I wanted to know the best way to work.

As remrem, I prefer the repetition of the function which is more flexible to use in case of editing. But it depends on the model and the design intent.

I arrive after the battle, but just like my two companions. I prefer function repetition to geometry repetition. Beeeaucoup easier to modify in solidworks
