Drawing shortening without changing sides

Hello

Back on autocadLT17, I was used to autocad 2005 but with the 2017 version the workspace has changed profoundly, nevertheless the order in question did not exist at the time, in order not to print in A0,  I do not manage to shorten some parts of drawings while keeping the real dimension of the model.

I have seen the help, but probably I don't have the required IQ

HELP

Thanks in advance

Hello

There are 2 ways to proceed:

  1. A quick and easy one, but the cut object is no longer the right size.
  2. A more complicated and longer one, but the object keeps its real length.

Method 1:

  • Force the dimension text(s) with the desired value, knowing that the dimensioned object has already been shortened (it is no longer the actual dimensions of the object represented).
  • Add the shortening symbol with the SHORTCUT SWITCH.

Method 2:

  • Leave the object at the right size and size it as is.
  • Copy the window on itself.
  • Create 2 polylines defining the parts of the drawing that are viewed.
  • Delimit the 2 windows on the 2 polylines (1 of each).
  • Move one of the windows closer to the other.

See attached file for more details.

to my great regret my new desktop uses Drafsight, but I used autocad a lot and for me there was an option to make a break line in a viewport

First by synchronizing the viewports:

Express>Layout Tools>Synchronize Viewports

Then you can use a break line: http://www.screencast.com/t/lfjCNmgtQ

I'll check as soon as I can and I'll detail the solution
