Bending radius of a cable

Hello

I am looking for any document or information providing information on the maximum permissible curvature of a cable (steel, in my case 12 mm Ø) without it being deformed, marked... This is to wrap it around a winch and therefore size it.

If anyone has any information on this subject, I'm interested!

PS: I have already found documents providing information on the maximum radius of bending but only in the case of an electrical cable...

Hello Corentin,

It all depends on the number of strands of your cable?

 

In general, for pulleys, it is common to take 22 times the diameter of the cable = diameter of the pulley
