Following the import of stp file, it is impossible for me to do a function recognition with SW 2015 SP04, while the SW 2014 version I have works very well.
The .stl format contains only a visual shape.
It does not contain surface or volume bodies, so no function recognition is possible.
Use a fomat, step, iges or parasolid.

A priori he is talking about STP which is a STEP file.

However, in step this is only valid for volume bodies.
If during the import the part is only composed of surface bodies, then no function recognition.

The problem is that it works with the 2014 version and not the 2015
Maybe look at the type of import of the stp file for although it is in volume
