Sketch recognition

I am addressing CREO 2.0 users.

Is there an easy way to copy or detect a sketch silhouette from an image?

I almost want to say that it's almost easier when the image is complicated by tracing splines on top, but then as soon as it's geometric it's arc, straight line and so on...

good evening @ Tomalam

A JPEG image can be inserted into the background of a sketch via the following 2 methods:

1) Use the dedicated function of the ISDX (Interactive Surface Design) module. This is by far the most practical because the operation is direct and this function allows you to automatically resize the JPEG to respect a given dimension between 2 points.

2) Create a flat surface and press the JPEG onto this surface via a texture with mapping. For this there is no need for a module, and by playing with the size of the surface and the scale factor of the mapping you can also respect the imposed dimensions.

Hi, personally I use this site to create a DXF from an image. I then import the DXF for my sketch, reworking it if necessary:

Merci@gt22 and @.PL, but I was hoping to have a module integrated with CREO.

I'll see if the CREO specialists come by and know more...

Hello

There is also the Inkscape software to vectorize an image.

Hello

For simple shape reconstruction from an image, I don't know of an automatic  solution on Creo.

I make a surface on which I put the image and then I redraw, but it doesn't often happen that I have to do it.

Otherwise, for complex shapes, I like Freestyle.

It looks pretty good to me, I'll look at it when I have some time

I also gave you the indication in the link of my  2nd answer

It is true that there is nothing like a video to understand the principle

A picture is worth 1000 words

A video is worth 100,000 words
