Retrieving Dimensions from a Plane

Hello

Is it possible to retrieve the dimensions of a format plan? DRW (or pdf or other extension that can be used on ProE) in excel?

If so, can we also recover the geometric tolerances?

Thank you

Hello

I think it will only be possible with a macro, but maybe specialists have a miracle solution!

Good luck!

Hello

Even a macro I don't think it's possible, there will be too many variants depending on the plans (number of odds). Unless with the macro, you select all the annotations of the plan and then copy them to Excel, but then you will have to sort afterwards...

So be careful, it's going to be a bit complicated but it seems to work.

Then a macro keyboard can improve efficiency.

In the drawing:

View the Layer Tree

Create a new layer

In the layer property, select all dimensions (by a frame)

Validate the new layer

Make Layer Info on the new layer

Save the file

In Excel:

Open an Excel workbook

in Excel open the file which should be called Layer****.inf

In this file, the first lines are deleted

We add a & in front of the d (or ad)

At this level, we have retrieved all the odds ids

Save Excel file as .csv

In Pro/E :

Insert a table from a file

Go get the .csv file

If all goes well, all the dimensions disappear from the views

Select Table

Save the table as csv

In Excel:

Open this last csv file and you will find all the dimension values.

Note: If you delete the table in Pro/E, the dimensions will reappear.

Tested under Wildfire 5

I haven't tested the geometric tolerances

it exsistes a utility that retrieves the dimensions and their tolerance and which is called tolerance table, on the other hand it does not recover the geometric tolerances
