Native Recovery

Hello

I would like to know if there are solidworks add-ins that allow you to retrieve the design tree of a file from another CAD system (CATIA, Creo, Inventor...)

Subsidiary question, is it possible to export the SolidWorks design tree to other CAD systems?

Thank you for your answers.

Hello

Sorry, but it is not possible to import or export the SolidWorks Design Tree. This is the way of modeling a body that varies greatly depending on the software used.

There is no tree resumption between systems.

- Function names vary from CAD to CAD

- some CADs create shapes and functions that are impossible to achieve with the CAD that will read the file

On the other hand, SW's FeatureWorks feature allows you to recreate a tree structure that allows you to make changes quickly and easily.

Hi Fab and hey everyone

Generic software allowing you to transfer x's to solidworks files (in my experience..) allows you to have at best no open volume for solids or scaling errors.

The building tree is not transferable as o kraftt explains.

On the other hand for data kit I'll find out

They allow you to convert kernels (parasolid for solidworks and SAT for CATIA I think).

At this time the best way is to use the solidworks featureworks which between us is really gadjet as this operation is complex if the part requires more than extrusion.

Hi all

Indeed, some publishers offer solutions capable of migrating CAD data with the construction history and many other elements such as 2D, links with 3D...

CoreTechnologie offers this type of solution and I invite you to view how the software works 3D_Evolution on youtube by clicking on the link below.

it is a migration from a Native CatiaV5 file to NX.
