Retrieve MEP variables in an excel file

Hello

It's all in my question, is there a way to recover these variables, see attached file.

Thank you

Hello

You can go through the MyCADTools INTEGRATION tool and generate a report of a list of properties. You'll get a .csv file that you can open in Excel.

What is your goal? Fill in SolidWorks parts with Excel or just list the properties of your files in a workbook?

Are the properties of your files contained in the MEPs or in the parts and assemblies?

I made a macro that fills in the parts and assemblies from an Excel workbook. But it requires many adaptations because I have developed it according to the particularities of our use. If you're interested, I can make a tutorial.

Otherwise the easiest for me is the SmartBom utility.

Hello

Otherwise, it is possible by creating a custom bill of materials (with the corresponding template) and then exporting it to Excel (with a simple right-click on the bill of materials).

Regardless of whether in the part or MEP file, I want to retrieve variables in order to list them in an excel file according to their plan number.

Lucas, do you have an example to show me, I understand but I can't imagine it.

If you have the MyCAdTools utilities you can use SmartBom.

Otherwise in your drawing you create a nomenclature with the variables you want to retrieve. And then as said @.PL you click on the table and you save it under eet in excel format.

Just create your BOM template that is identical to what you want in Excel.

Watch this tutorial for creating a BOM template:

And from SolidWorks, all you have to do is insert the bill of materials into the assembly or drawing.

It's not to list the parts of an assembly, but to list all the parts of a file, all the parts that I and my colleague drew in 2014.

Indeed, for a piece, it won't work!

Sorry not awake this morning!

There's a similar request here:

Sorry I'm repeating myself but SmartBom works on a folder...

I've got what you need:

SMARTBOM (one of the Axemble utilities).

You set up your columns according to your properties

You select the folder

you let the utility do its thing

you export to Excel

And that's it.....

No problem remrem, I didn't put your answer aside I just answered Lucas.

@Mathieu,

If you have the utilities it's by far the best solution.

No no. No problem either!

First of all, the question is: Do you have the MyCadTools utilities?

Yes I have them

But can I do my configue on smartbom automatically retrieve it on excel so that all people can have access?

YES of course!

That's the principle of SmartBom. You select all the variables you want to get in Excel. You apply your template to the folder you want. And finally you export it in Excel format.

I recommend the utility training on the MyCadServices site to learn the basics.

If you need a hand, let us know, we've got the hang of it!!!!

Remember to save your table template (to save your property table) as well as your project (which takes into account the table template and the options of your listing / or nomenclature).
