Linear Repeat of a Chamfer Function

Hello

When trying to repeat the chamfer function on several footprints of a part under SW14, the operation is blocked by the software displaying the following error message "construction error: some chamfer objects are no longer in the model, edit the function to re-select the objects",

Knowing that the material removal function (bevel base) was done with the same repetition and dimensions, see the attached overview.

Is there a solution to this?

Thank you

If you really have difficulty, sometimes the repetition goes better by doing face repetition and for this you have to select all the inner faces of the material removal (including the chamfer).

Hello

Try to check the "geometry repetition" box

Wouldn't it be easier to do your chamfer on a single piece and then do a repeat of that piece? Instead of a chamfer repeat.

Hello

You have to check "Geometry repetition".

In most cases, the repetition of geometry is advisable, it avoids errors of this kind.

Thank you for your answers, the 3 solutions have been tested, at first I wanted to do a single repetition for the material removal and the chamfer (plus a drilling) and it's practically the same phenomenon, checking the geometry repetition doesn't work either.

I tried to redo the manipulation on a simple part, to make sure that there is no dimensional error on my thing, but it didn't do it too, see the preview

Otherwise test a repetition driven by a function:

Or by a sketch:

Re

Indeed, this only works if you repeat the material removal and the chamfer at the same time, but not the chamfer alone.

A solution to do this chamfer repetition  afterwards, even if it is far from being the "cleanest" would be to do the chamfer with a removal of material by sweeping.

Yes absolutely, your tip is effective, but not very practical (with a 3D sketch), thank you very much :)....

Bart's solution: it is to make the impression, the drilling, the chamfer. And then to repeat the set of functions.

Instead of trying to do a second repetition of the chamfer alone.

No, but nothing actually. You've already done both functions in the same repetition and it doesn't work.

So much for me (and I don't know how to delete an answer)

See this tutorial everything is said

Hello

This is a limitation of SOLIDWORKS, it is impossible to repeat a chamfer, fillet, or draft alone because these functions are dependent on parent functions for the definition of faces or edges, the only solution is to repeat this chamfer in the same repeat function as material removals.

FYI, this is documented in the SOLIDWORKS KB under the reference: S-00921

Have a nice day

Hello

Indeed, I tried the manipulation again on a new part and it works again!!

I think what was blocking me was that the sketch of the material removal was not on the same plane on which I put the chamfer, once I put them back on the same plane, it worked (but limit, the repetition is done along a single Axis : s)
