SW MTB wheel

Hi everyone, in a nutshell, how would you go about designing a mountain bike wheel under solidworks 2014? (rims, spokes especially for the tire I manage ;-))

Just to compare the methods. Thank you

I will proceed by a boss per revolution for the rim,

then for the tyre, a revolving boss followed by a removal of material with a circular repetition for the tyre drawings.

For the rays ditto, a circular repeat.

I'll go to GrabCad: https://grabcad.com/library?per_page=20&query=bicycle

:) Okay, easy solution!

Otherwise I found this to help you:

It's always better to do it yourself Aurlien =)

And what level of detail do you want? Do you want 100% realism?

it can help you.

Thanks guys. Indeed my goal is to achieve by my own means but thank you anyway I keep the link on hand just in case. :-)

For the reasons of the tire I thought of a winding function?

For the rays, a 3D sketch for the curvature and then smoothing?

@alex, the spokes you want are straight or altered as in the photo below?

Just like in your photo with a slight radius of curvature

Well, if you consider your radius as an object, I think you should create a first radius in the assembly (creation of a descending part) via a 3D sketch and a scan of the radius section.

[EDIT]: Forgot the end of my message:)

Then you do a repetition of this spoke via the axle of your wheel (one spoke out of two) then you symmetrical everything so that the spokes on each side meet in the middle of your rim

The "twist" function on a straight spoke can work too
