Know which functions are hidden

Hello

I would like to know if there is a way to know what functions are hidden when designing a room. For example, if I have to hide several holes for x or y reasons, how do I know which ones are hidden in my tree?

Thank you

Hello

What do you mean by hidden? You can delete them by right-clicking on the function and then delete and there it will no longer appear in the 3d but will still be present in the creation tree and it will be grayed out and this way you can see which ones are "hidden". If I understood your request correctly...

Thank you for your answer. I rarely use the delete button on a function to hide it because it removes all the children from the function. I use the hide button (the one with the eye icon) because it doesn't have this problem. The problem is that with this button it is impossible to know what is hidden or not.

Hello

(Edit) misdirection, sorry.

Kind regards

On my SolidWorks when I hide a function it hides the whole part from me, I don't even know how to remove this option.

When you put a function in the delete state it effectively deletes the child functions, all the one that takes as a reference the new face/surface created. You have to pay attention to the reference, for me it's more a problem of substance than of form, you need to review your tree structure or the references you use to move forward in your modeling.

I agree that with a more structured design I would need this option less but nevertheless it surprises me that there is no possibility to know everything that is hidden like on CATIA for example.

Hello

You need to expand your creation tree, by clicking on the little black arrow, and then click on the last column.

You will then see a small icon in front of all the functions that you have hidden.

By the way, you can click directly in this column instead of right-clicking on the functions.

Kind regards

Thank you for your answer, so it is not possible to know what is hidden? Because this last column makes the function transparent but leaves the edges visible.

Hello

As for mandrake, when I hide a function , it hides the whole part or at least the body corresponding to the function if I have multi-body.

Can you give us a screenshot of your creation tree so that we understand your needs a little better?

How many bodies do you have in your room?

Kind regards

Hello

I'm not sure you can hide an active function on a body. The only way is to delete (indeed children are also deleted).

on the other hand to show hide the bodies you have to do CTRL + SHIFT + TAB (one after the other in this order) it activates the hidden bodies in transparency, you click on what you want to make appear (or disappear) and you release the buttons.

It allows you to see the hidden and manage the elements.

Hello

Mounting/Hiding a part in an assembly is this icon:

Otherwise, the shortcuts to hide or mount on the fly in an assembly are:

  • Pressed the TAB key, by passing with the mouse over the parts, they are erased.
  • CTRL+SHIFT+TAB key: you can see the hidden parts in temporary transparency;  You then have to click on the ones you want to bring up.

Hello, thank you for your answers, I was already aware of how to hide the parts in an assembly. I therefore conclude that there is no way to know which functions are hidden when designing a part, a grayed out icon for example on a hidden hole would be welcome and will save me from checking all the functions to know if I have not forgotten to show one.
