Solidworks Simulation: Computing Speed

Hi all

we work with dell tower T5810, E5-1650 3.5Ghz, 32GB RAM, Quadro K4200.

For the same calculation of a part, static linear, my computer takes 4 to 5 times less time to do the calculation, under all similar conditions (meshes, etc.).

Looking at the CPU used, my processors are often at more than 50% in contact resolution, while the other computer stagnates at 3%.

Do you have any idea of the problem?

Good evening

One avenue that we don't necessarily think about is the power management options. (CPU limitation, ...)

Hello

EXACT, --> task manager -> Set priority --> high = improved reaction time

We're going to try that; a priori it is set to high default on my computer, I'll see on the other one

Well, the high priority didn't change anything.

After contacting our dealer, I tried to connect with my login on the 2nd computer, the difference in speed is striking.

It seems to be coming from the user account, the next step will be to copy my HKEY CURRENT USER settings to see if it impacts the speed

A silly question, but when you log in on the second PC you looked in the task manager of both PCs to see if there is not a M... which is spinning in the background???

In the past I already had a windows session that messed up and there was no other solution than to format the computer and redo a windows session.

The why and the how??? no one ever knew. there was a problem at the installation and voila...

It's the same for you.

Kind regards

I thought, you could also ask a colleague to connect to your computer to see how it goes, and thus confirm your hypothesis!!

I did this test on Friday, with my credentials on the slow computer. Much faster in theory.

We'll try with the other IDs on my tower to see if it's slow.
